The stunning garden is well worth a visit and testament to Monica’s love for gardening. It has featured a couple of times on ‘Open Gardens’.
Monica and Norman Herring opened up their lovely home in 2008 to become Cedar Garden B&B. The house was built in the 50s and a beautiful oak tree was planted at the same time. The Cedar giving the property its name, was stuck by lightning many years ago, but is still standing! The tranquil, almost parklike garden has many different trees, flowers and sofar 67 bird species have been recorded. The establishment is centrally located in the village of Underberg, with unlimited outdoor activities in the area. Cedar Garden B&B which also has self catering accommodation, is perfect for travellers wishing to go up Sani Pass, for folk joining local events and business people requiring a stayover!

The room we were given was lovely and the hospitality from all staff members was superb! We noticed all the little extras which we often do not see at other BnBs – an umbrella, a torch, romantic candles, solar lamps, magazines, chocolates, incredibly bright and clean linen! I so enjoyed walking around the garden in the morning, photographing all the beautiful flowers. We will be talking about this past weekend for years to come! Thank you so much.”
